Research progress of the CXCR4 mechanism in Alzheimer's disease

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a degenerative brain with complex clinical manifestations and pathogeneses such as abnormal deposition of beta-amyloid protein inflammation caused by the excessive activation microglia. CXC motif chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4) G protein-coupled that binds to ligand 12 (CXCL12) activate downstream signaling pathways, Janus kinase/signal transducer activator transcription renin–angiotensin system (Ras)/RAF proto-oncogene serine (Raf)/mitogen-activated kinase/extracellular-regulated kinase; most these pathways are involved in inflammatory responses. CXCR4 highly expressed microglia astrocytes; this might be one important causes astrocytes.
